Dr Jemma Allen (MBBS, SCHP) was born and raised on the North West Coast of Tasmania. She completed her medical degree at the University of Tasmania graduating in 2017. Since completing her degree Jemma worked as an intern, resident and registrar at the Royal Hobart Hospital mostly in the Emergency Department and with the Hospital in the Home service. She also spent 18 months working in emergency departments in Sydney and smaller regional hospitals in NSW. In 2023 Jemma started her general practice and rural generalist training in Swansea, Tasmania.

Jemma enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a particular interest in rural and remote medicine, acute care, chronic disease management, aged care and palliative care. Jemma currently works part-time with the community palliative care service in Hobart and is completing a clinical diploma in palliative medicine.

When not working Jemma enjoys rock climbing, hiking, playing board games and spending time with her smithfield pup Monty.
